Terms of Service

Chapter 1 General Provisions
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms of Service govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Myeongbun (hereinafter "Company") and Users in connection with the use of the digital self-understanding service grounded in Saju (Korean birth-chart analysis) (hereinafter "Service") provided by the Company.
Article 2 (Definitions)
The key terms used in these Terms of Service are defined as follows:
- "Service" means the birth-data-based personality analysis, AI-generated Reports, chat features, and related supplementary services provided by the Company.
- "User" means any person who uses the Service in accordance with these Terms of Service.
- "Member" means a User who has registered a membership account by linking a social account.
- "Report" means a personalized birth-data-based reading, generated through systematic interpretation with the assistance of AI.
- "Paid Service" means services requiring a separate payment (full Reports, compatibility readings, etc.).
- "Digital Content" means information in digital form provided through the Service, including Reports, text, and images.
- "Chat" means the AI feature based on a Report.
Article 3 (Posting, Amendment, and Notification of Terms of Service)
- These Terms of Service take effect upon being posted on the Service screen.
- The Company may amend these Terms of Service to the extent permitted by applicable laws and regulations, and will provide notice within the Service at least 30 days prior to the effective date of any amendment.
- If an amendment is unfavorable to Users, the Company will provide individual notice via email or other means.
- Any User who does not agree to the amended Terms of Service may discontinue use of the Service and withdraw their membership.
- Notices shall be given by in-service notifications, email, posting on the Service's main screen, or other similar methods.
Chapter 2 Service
Article 4 (Content of Service)
- The Company provides the following services:
- Birth-data-based personality reading
- Generation of AI-assisted personalized Reports
- AI chat
- Gift-giving feature (to be offered in the future)
- Other supplementary services determined by the Company
- The Service is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in principle. However, the Service may be temporarily suspended for reasons such as system maintenance, in which case advance notice will be provided.
Article 5 (Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology)
- Reports and Chat are generated by AI (large language models) used as interpretive tools, not as predictive systems.
- Content generated by AI will be labeled as such within the Service.
- Even when the same information is entered, results may vary depending on when the content is generated, due to the nature of AI.
- Content generated by AI is intended for personal reflection and self-understanding, and does not substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or other advice on personal or professional matters.
Article 6 (Rights and Scope of Use of Content)
- Copyrights and intellectual property rights in content provided through the Service belong to the Company.
- Users may use content obtained through the Service solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- Content may not be reproduced, distributed, broadcast, or otherwise used without the Company's prior consent.
- Rights to the birth-data information entered by a User belong to that User.
Article 7 (Modification and Suspension of Service)
- The Company may modify the content of the Service when necessary for operational or technical reasons, and will provide advance notice of any material changes.
- The Service may be suspended without prior notice in the event of force majeure circumstances such as natural disasters or system failures.
- In the event of a Service suspension, the Company will notify Users as promptly as possible.
Chapter 3 Members
Article 8 (Member Registration and Account)
- Membership registration is completed via social login (Google, Kakao) after agreeing to these Terms of Service.
- Users must provide accurate information and must promptly update it whenever the information changes.
- Members are responsible for the security management of their own accounts.
- Members may not transfer or lend their accounts to others.
Article 9 (Member Withdrawal and Restriction of Use)
- Members may request withdrawal at any time through the Settings menu within the Service or by email (support@myeongbun.com), and the Company will process the request immediately.
- Upon withdrawal, all personal information will be deleted, except for information required to be retained under applicable laws and regulations.
- The Company may restrict use of the Service in the following cases:
- Misappropriation of another person's information
- Interference with the stable operation of the Service
- Violation of applicable laws and regulations
- Restriction of use will in principle be preceded by prior notice. However, notice may be given after the fact in urgent circumstances.
Article 10 (Obligations of Users)
Users must not engage in any of the following acts:
- Misappropriating another person's information
- Commercially using information obtained through the Service without the Company's consent
- Interfering with the stable operation of the Service
- Entering false information
- Any other act in violation of applicable laws and regulations
Chapter 4 Paid Services and Payment
Article 11 (Paid Services and Pricing)
- The types and prices of Paid Services are displayed on the payment screen within the Service.
- In the event of a price change, advance notice will be provided, and payments made before the change will be charged at the prior price.
- All prices are displayed inclusive of value-added tax (VAT).
Article 12 (Payment Methods and Procedures)
- Payments for Paid Services are processed through an electronic payment gateway (PG company).
- Available payment methods include credit cards, KakaoPay, Naver Pay, Toss Pay, and others; specific payment methods can be confirmed on the payment screen.
- Payment is completed at the time the PG company's payment authorization is confirmed.
- Sensitive payment information (e.g., card numbers) is managed directly by the PG company, and the Company does not retain such information.
- For Customers outside Korea, Sold through Link, LLC (f/k/a Lemon Squeezy LLC) acts as the Company's authorized reseller and Merchant of Record, handling payment and applicable taxes (including VAT and Japan Consumption Tax) under its own tax registrations.
Article 13 (Right of Withdrawal and Refunds)
- Reports provided through this Service are Digital Content whose supply commences simultaneously with payment.
- In accordance with Article 17(2)(5) of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce (전자상거래 등에서의 소비자보호에 관한 법률), the right of withdrawal is limited once the provision of Digital Content has commenced.
- The Company provides a free preview (partial Report sections released before checkout) so that Users have a sufficient opportunity to review the Service before purchase.
- Notice of the limitation on the right of withdrawal is provided at the time of payment, and proceeding with payment is deemed to constitute consent to this limitation.
- For Users resident in the European Union, in accordance with the digital-content carve-out of Directive 2011/83/EU Article 16(m), the purchase flow captures (i) the User's express consent to begin supply of the Digital Content prior to expiration of the 14-day withdrawal period, (ii) the User's acknowledgment that the right of withdrawal is thereby lost once supply has begun, and (iii) durable confirmation of this consent and acknowledgment by email together with the purchase receipt.
- A full refund will be provided where content was not properly delivered due to a system error, or where duplicate charges occurred without the User's responsibility.
- Refund requests may be submitted to support@myeongbun.com.
- If the content of the Report differs from the service's representations or advertisements, or if the contract has been performed differently from the agreed terms, Users may exercise their right of withdrawal within 3 months from the date the Digital Content was provided, or within 30 days from the date the User became aware or could have become aware of such fact.
Article 14 (Payment by Minors)
- When a Minor purchases Paid Services, it is deemed that the consent of their Legal Guardian has been obtained.
- In accordance with Article 5 of the Civil Act (민법), if a Legal Guardian has not given consent, the minor or their Legal Guardian may cancel the payment.
- Cancellation requests will be processed following a verification procedure for the minor and their Legal Guardian.
Article 15 (Gift-Giving Service)
- This Article shall take effect upon the launch of the gift-giving service.
- Users may send a Report as a gift to another person.
- If the recipient has not opened the gift, the sender may request a refund within 30 days from the date of payment; once 30 days have elapsed, the gift is automatically refunded in full.
- If the recipient has opened the gift, the provision of Digital Content is deemed to have commenced, and refunds are therefore limited.
Chapter 5 User Information
Article 16 (Protection of Personal Information)
- The Company protects Users' personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
- Personal information may be transferred overseas for the purpose of providing the Service; details can be found in the Privacy Policy.
- The Privacy Policy is available on the Service screen and website.
Article 17 (Use of User-Generated Information)
- Birth-data information entered by Users may be used for service improvement and statistical analysis.
- In such cases, the information will be de-identified so that individuals cannot be identified.
- Users may withdraw their consent to such use in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
Chapter 6 Guidance on Service Use
Article 18 (Precautions When Using the Service)
- Reading results combine traditional Saju (Korean birth-chart) interpretation and AI assistance, and are intended as reflective insight, not prediction. Saju (Korean birth-chart analysis) is presented as a structured language for describing personality patterns and self-reflection — not as a means of prediction, divination, or fortune-telling. Reading results do not substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or other advice on personal or professional matters.
- The Company's liability is limited with respect to judgments and actions taken by Users based on the Service results.
- The Company's liability is limited with respect to Service interruptions caused by force majeure circumstances such as natural disasters or system failures.
- The Company is not liable for service disruptions attributable to the User's own actions.
Article 19 (Dispute Resolution)
- In the event of a dispute between the Company and a User, both parties shall endeavor to resolve it through good-faith consultation.
- If consultation fails to achieve resolution, dispute resolution may be sought through the following organizations:
- Korea Consumer Agency: 1372 (no area code) (www.kca.go.kr)
- Electronic Commerce Dispute Mediation Committee: 1661-5714 (no area code)
- Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee: 1833-6972 (no area code) (www.kopico.go.kr)
- For purchases processed by Sold through Link, LLC, dispute resolution is also available through the buyer support contact provided in the LemonSqueezy receipt email and on the LemonSqueezy Buyer Terms page.
Chapter 7 Miscellaneous
Article 20 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
- The laws of the Republic of Korea shall serve as the Governing Law for the interpretation and application of these Terms of Service.
- Any disputes arising in connection with the use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive Jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the Company's place of business.
Supplementary Provisions
- These Terms of Service shall take effect on March 31, 2026.
